To be married or not married.

Recently Miley Cyrus appeared on the "Ellen Show," where she talked about her long time on-again-off-again engagement to fiancé Liam Hemsworth. The two have finally reconciled after splitting back in 2013. More importantly, she talked about how the ring symbolizes his love for her, that a document may not. Why is getting married important for people? Why do people choose not to get married?

Marriage is a symbolism of love, kindness, and trust between two people — A celebration that the LGBTQ community can finally be a part of in various states and countries. There are many people, heterosexual, homosexual, queer, transgender, that don’t want to get married because they don’t believe that a document or a ceremony has to be the defining moment in their relationship that ties the love of two people forever. Not all marriages stay forever?

However, Ellen has explained various times that her marriage to wife Portia de Rossi is important because they were able to celebrate and solidify their love for each other. To many, a wedding is an important celebration that allows for couples to bond their love for each other and that they will do anything they can to stay together. Through sickness and health, till death do they part. A marriage is the document and section of one's life, where the love and trust are tested on a daily basis, and hopefully built stronger so the couple stays together forever.

On the show, Miley explains that most of her jewelry is usually made out of Gummy Bears and Cotton Candy, but that is her personality. The reason that she loves to wear the ring, even if it doesn’t exactly match her ecstatic, is because she loves her finance, and respects his love for her. Isn’t it the love and respect for two people what solidifies a relationship forever? I give props to Miley Cyrus for talking about her opinions on this matter in a professional and sophisticated way, because it allows for many to understand the importance of a relationship that lasts. It doesn't have to be symbolized with a ring, or a document, but rather the defining love and trust between two people.

Within the last year, Miley has definitely changed her point of view on life. She has become a more professional version of her carefree self. Many people have bashed the singer for her disrespectful and unnecessary clothing and life choices. I have continuously given her props for being outspoken and generally not caring how people view her. She also revealed the true harsh life of being a Disney star, explaining that she was forced to work under a strict schedule and maintain a happy G-rated way of life. By pushing the boundaries, Miley has allowed people to see her true persona. No one likes a fake actor who tries to be more likable than his or her true self.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
