Miley Cyrus, We're Glad You're Back

It's good to have you back, sis.

Three years have passed since Miley Cyrus took her first steps into her, what I would like to call, curve ball of changing lifestyles.

The second she decided to chop her hair off and go bleach blonde we all knew something was bound to happen to our Hannah Montana. Don’t get me wrong, I still jam out to “We Can’t Stop” but once that album dropped some things started changing for Miley.

I don’t really think anyone is really sure of what Miley was going through and that’s okay. We all deserve to go through our own midlife crisis every now and then, ours just aren’t under the limelight of the media and were not watched by paparazzi every second of the way.

The evolution of Miley Cyrus is really crazy to look at if you think about it. From our fav 15-year-old, Miley Stewart, that shared lives with Hannah Montana to The Hannah Montana Movie and then to becoming her own artist alongside Liam Hemsworth.

A few albums dropped, many tours later and a traumatic breakup, Miley Cyrus has come a long way, to say the least.

I believe she deserves a round of applause, a moment to shine. She has gone through life the way some of us may be able to relate to and some that can't even begin to but that's just how life is. Sometimes we go through hard times and troubles and maybe even just phases that we want to explore and may have even enjoyed, but we always find our way back home.

Miley made her own path through her life and found herself. She is now continuing her career in singing with her beautiful new single "Malibu", a judge on The Voice and re-engaged to Liam Hemsworth.

Miley's new single, "Malibu", has already been on Billboards top hits and made its way nationally with a roar. All her loyal fans and more have been completely astonished by her turn around and absolutely love the new her and her new single.

If you haven't had the chance to listen to her new single, do it now. Each lyric is so symbolic to her road through success, but more importantly her journey with Liam.

"I never would've believed you if three years ago you told me I'd be writing this song."

is probably my favorite lyric of them all. It tells you how much she's grown and that love will find its way, and in this case, luckily it did.

So here is a little shout out to Miley:

Keep doing you and being the best you possible. What you've gone through and how you've grown from it while being under the media's eye 24/7 is honorable. You're a hero to many and an idol to most. So happy that you have found your way back to the love of your life and most importantly found your way to a happier you.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
