If you're not living under a rock you are probably aware of the wall Donald Trump is promising America he will construct to divide Mexico from the rest of the country. Will Mexico really allow this? Even more of a question, will they fund the expenses for this wall that will be keeping their citizens out of America? No, this article is not about Mexico or Donald Trump. However, it is about a wall.

Britain and France have recently struck a deal to create this "big new wall" that will supposedly prevent refugees and migrants from entering and by crossing the English Channel. The wall is estimated to be 13 feet tall and costs an astonishing $23 million. The wall will start its base in the port city of Calais, France.

Calais, over the years, has grown to be a "dumping" ground for people who have nowhere to go. They set up camps and live around the area. Locals refer to the area as "The Jungle." The Jungle is located on top of a landfill and people section themselves based off of nationalities. A majority of the immigrants stationed in Calais hope to sneak on cargo trucks and ships to enter Britain. Workers/ drivers are told they should not stop within 150 miles of the port according to CNN. This is just to take precautionary steps to avoid refugees sneaking into countries.

A fence is already in place within the borders, but that clearly is not enough. Government officials believe a Wall is the next step in action. The wall has received some backlash of European citizens. Some are saying it's a waste of the tax payers money. Other insist that the money should go to fund for more security at the borders. By the end of 2016, the wall is expected to be completed. What do you think France and Britain should do? Is building a wall effective? Will America be next to create a 13-foot wall?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
