Mightier Than...: A Poem

You may just see me as an

Ordinary instrument used

to do perform menial tasks

But I’m much more than that.


I can be used to draw the finest

Or the most silliest of art

To write the next bestseller,

Or to write a glowing symphony.


I can also change your life for the worst.

I can be used for propaganda, death warrants and

Literature not meant for the faint of heart.


It doesn’t matter who grips me.

I have the power to shape a society

For better or for worse.

I am a tool to be reckoned with.

I am something you should be afraid of.

I am mightier than the sword.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
