Ahhh, midterm week. Some might say it's worse than finals. It's long, it's stressful, and it's normally accompanied or incentivized by some "light at the end of the tunnel" (usually a fall break that really is only one or two days of catching up on sleep before you have to hit the ground running again.) I mean, at least with finals you have a full month off (for winter break) or three full months off (for summer break). Midterms, you're the worst. Here's 11 reasons why it's true, as told by our friends from New Girl.
1. Looking back at your notes from class to review.....
....Then realizing you didn't take any.
2. Looking through all the things you haven't studied like...
Nope. Nope. Not happening.
3. Getting in the study zone when someone's music upstairs happens to go on full blast.
Turn it down for me, please sir.
4. Having to study on a weekend day.
Sleep is for the weak?
5. Procrastinating by doing literally anything except your work.
It's fine.
6. Stress-eating.
I ate a family sized bag of Ruffles and a quart of spinach dip last night and I wasn't even hungry.
7. Reading over your own essay and realizing it's absolutely terrible.
...Too late to fix it now anyway??
8. Trying to give yourself that pre-test pep talk.
(Has this actually ever worked for anyone?)
9. Writing a paper and rephrasing the same thing 6 times just to up the word count.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't do this today.
10. Somehow the ONE exam question worth the most points is the ONE thing you didn't study.
Also happened today.
11. Knowing you totally failed, yet trying to accept it.
Better luck next time. You're the worst, midterms week.
