Welcome to college, where "ordinary time" is stressful enough and MIDTERM SEASON IS ALMOST UPON US. Batten down the hatches, my friends, this season is about to be killer. As college students, most of us are fielding exams, assignments and papers all while trying to balance work, eating and sleeping every once in a while. With midterms this only increases tenfold. In all seriousness, the midterm season can be incredibly stressful and I believe "Bob's Burgers" says it best when trying to accurately describe the feelings we are currently or soon to be having.

1. Trying to prepare yourself for the inevitable

Why not just start your journey out on the floor? We all know that we'll end up there at some point anyway!

2. The initial attempt to study or get work done

Praying to whatever God/gods you believe in that you can make it through this unscathed and alive.

3. Sitting in class/review sessions

Because actually trying to pay attention to what is going on for once is very hard when the people around you are continuously laughing, snoring, sneezing, coughing, talking, etc.

4. When your professor decides to surprise you with extra work

Because there honestly isn't anything worse than hearing "I'm going to give you five papers and an exam" from your professor. Especially when it was not on the syllabus. Well I'm going to go slowly die so thank you!!

5. Extra notes going up online

When your professor decides to add extra notes or material just because and offers to send out information about it to the class.

6. Attempting to cope

Some of us stress eat, continuously nap, and/or drink a little to avoid our studies for a little while. Not condoning, just saying SOMETIMES it happens...

7. Realizing you've ordered out every night

Sometimes you just need to order out instead of taking the time to actually make yourself food for meals. Sometimes you don't realize that you've had Domino's every single night for a week until you take your trash out and have to balance seven pizza boxes in our arms.

8. Mercy from professors

Hearing the beautiful words "I've decided to give a take-home exam" or "I don't think we'll be doing that big assignment for midterm anymore". These professors deserve awards.

9. Sleep studying

Because studying at night (or even during the day quite honestly) really just turns into sleeping on the job. Maybe try sleeping with your eyes open? Osmosis is also an option.

10. Wondering if you took the wrong path

There is always that brief (or maybe not so brief) moment where you begin to wonder if you should have just chosen to go the route of your childhood dream of becoming a ballerina, etc .Then you realize that you probably would have just ended up having even more work on your plate and resign yourself to the fact that you have to keep studying.

11. Classmates being continuously unprepared

We all know that one person in the class that asks what is being discussed and/or has absolutely no clue that there was an assignment or exam in the first place. Maybe that person is you. Either way, we can't help feeling a little sorry for them but also very confused as to how they can be so empty-headed but also slightly annoyed.

12. Becoming slightly insane with your lack of sleep

That moment when you realize that you've been staring, wide eyed at the same spot for at least five whole minutes and then start laughing out loud at yourself. At three in the morning. Maybe you just need to call it a night...

13. Taking on your exams/assignments

Because deciding that you're going to completely ace everything is a lot better than completely giving up half way through the semester. Power to the students!!

14. Sitting in your exam and zoning out

Is there really anything worse than getting to your exam, sitting down and promptly forgetting all of the material that you've been studying OR zoning out completely? I think not.

15. That feeling when everything is over

Nothing beats the relaxed feeling of knowing that you're finally done with a big assignment or exam. Especially when it means that you're half way through the semester and maybe get to go on break. What a time to be alive!

Hopefully you aren't completely drowning in midterm "fun" just yet! If you are, know that your peers are saluting you and are about to be in that same position ourselves. Midterms can be hard but you'll make it through! Study, eat, sleep and push through because you've got this! Always remember:

Midterms will be over before you know it and you'll have aced them all. Don't forget to take care of yourself and take a break every once in a while for your sanity's sake. Good luck and happy studying!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
