Let’s face it, that period of the afternoon between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. can seem like it drags on forever while at work. Some people combat their mid-day slump with coffee, tea or fresh air, but sometimes you just need the power of words to get you back into high gear. Here are some great words of motivation for when you’re feeling sluggish and unproductive.
1. “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Each day brings new opportunities to get up, get out there, and kick some butt. Embrace it! Make the most of your opportunities and your ability to do what you want to do.
2. “Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory.” George S. Patton
Everybody loves, even strives, for the feeling of victory, winning and accomplishments. It makes us forget about everything we just went through as we soak up the rewards of a job well done. Accept these challenges, now; your work will pay off soon!
3. “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” Thomas A. Edison
As the famous story goes, Edison himself failed. Many, many, times. But what came out of his numerous attempts? A light bulb! You never know; your next attempt could be the success you’re looking for.
4. “Wherever you are, be all there!” Jim Elliot
Why are you only going to give 50 percent of your effort, when you can give 100 percent? Why choose to not focus and get things done? Whatever you’re doing, give it your all!
5. “To begin, begin.” William Wordsworth
It might seem simple, but the first step in achieving something is to actually do it! Don’t wait around for the perfect moment. The time is now!
