Nothing kills my summer vibe as much as realizing that I am already halfway done with the best four years of my life. If my last two years of school go half as fast as the first two then I know graduation will be here in a blink of an eye. By taking on my new role as an upperclassman man there comes a few perks and a few cons that come with being a junior.
Cons:
- Your senior year will be a year of lasts: last midterm, last girl’s night out, last football game. Going into your junior year you are fully aware that this is your last year without fearing graduation. This is your last year without the fear and sadness that comes with senior year.
- It has now officially become socially unacceptable for you to flirt with freshman. Your dating pool is drying up and it is not enjoyable. Although no one is going to completely judge you if you end up dating a freshman, just be warned and remember how lost and dumb you were as a college freshman.
- A lot of your friends are graduating and you have to start saying goodbye to the girls in your chapter that made you fall in love with it to begin with. This will definitely be the worst part of junior year.
Pros:
- You still have time to figure out what you want to do after graduation. You may have decided on a major, but your career path remains unclear. Luckily you still have all of junior and senior year to figure out your life plan.
- Being three years into school your friendships start to reach that deeper level. You’re in love with your friend group and cannot imagine not spending every weekend out with them and every week night with them in the library.
- The best part about junior year is that is when most people will turn the big 21! Birthdays are always a big deal but this one is even bigger and better. Gone are the days where you have to opt out of going out to the bars.
Nothing great last forever and that includes college, but thank you God for two more years!
