Michigan Football Is Back

To say it was a stressful game for Ohio State and Michigan fans Saturday is an understatement. I ended up on my knees with my forehead pressed against the floor so many times I began to think I may never be able to get up. My hands shook throughout the entirety of the game and for a few hours afterward.

I am thankful I have a year to recover before enduring this level of stress again. Although I think I’d prefer having multiple years in between.

My pacing had me praying up to Bo hoping for some kind of divine intervention. A few times, it even looked like we may have gotten it but I’m thinking Woody had to have been intervening as well and won out in the end.

Yes, I know football is about talent, not divine intervention but you have to admit, a lot of crazy things happened.

Durbin missing not one but TWO field goals?

Speight throwing not one but TWO interceptions?

ALL IN ONE GAME?

Incredible.

I must admit, it was a great game. It was a football game fans hate and love to watch at the same time. A football game the players love to play. Boy did they play.

To all the Ohio State Fans out there, congratulations. Your team won and I cannot take that away from you(as much as I would like to try).

To my fellow Michigan fans, it may not seem like it right now but it is okay. The Team. The Team. The Team. The Team showed up and proved to us and everyone else in the world that Michigan Football is back and ready to play at a highly competitive level. That is something to rejoice about. To the coaches and players, I think I speak for all of Michigan (even over there in Lansing, although they won’t admit it) when I say that you have made everyone proud. You have not only played your hearts out, but inspired thousands with your drive, love for the game, and commitment to academics, your teammates, and your favorite sport. You have created a legacy that will live on for years to come. Thank you for that.

Do not hang your head, Michigan Football is just getting started. Plus we have the NFL Draft to look forward to this year. Our favorite seniors play on!

Thank you Michigan Wolverines.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
