Take a moment and think about this: Barack Obama has been photographed many times and his emotion definitely, varies. But the incomparable first lady Mrs. Michelle Obama is on his arm or simply near him he never has a long face! No matter if you love the Obama’s or you hate them: It's a hard not to understand the admiration and love President Obama demonstrates to our First Lady.

Michelle LaVaughn Obama is arguably one of the most influential people in this nation’s history. She is so much more than just Barack Obama’s wife. She commands the room and demands respect without ever mentioning the word. She has forever changed the game for the position “First Lady” Because of Mrs. Obama, to be the first lady has much more depth. From 2008 until the present, she has used her position to make a change. She has implemented countless health programs, relief efforts, community projects, etc. The Obamas were many of firsts, but to me forever and always they will resemble change. Since her husband’s election, she has handled negativity and criticism with the grace of a champion.

Michelle Obama has forever changed the perception of the first lady.

Here are 10 reasons why she is the GOAT FLOTUS.

1. I’ll just start by addressing a fact that’s quickly forgotten: She’s a lawyer.

2. Aside from having the style and grace of a true queen, she has ample brain power. Our first lady has earned degrees from both Princeton and Harvard University.

3. Just look at her! Aside from being one of the hardest working women in America, she happens to be one of the most beautiful women that have ever graced the White House. She continues to break the internet daily with her flawless skin, untouchable style, and contagious Black Girl Magic.

4. She has changed the lives of so many people across the globe.

5. In 2010, the FLOTUS launched Let’s Move! This was a nationwide effort to call attention to the issue of childhood obesity. She set out to expound the unfortunate plague of childhood obesity. She has been humble enough to appear on children’s television stations illustrating to children the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. She has since urged schools to make healthier meal choices. She also urged food companies to make healthier food for the nation’s children.

6. Even though I am not much older than Sasha and Malia Obama, I have had the immense pleasure of watching these girls grow into separate little powerhouses right before this nation’s eyes. These past 8 years has shown us just how powerful it is to have an elegant mother, who teaches you well!

7. In 2013, Mrs. Obama launched MyPlate. Which a simple plate icon to help parents make healthier choices for their families. Its shows the healthier choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Because of the FLOTUS, the USDA has partnered with over 100 national organizations and 6,000 community groups and have partnered to help families across America giving them access to vital nutrition information.

8. It's not just physical health she cares about. In 2014, the First Lady launched the Reach Higher Initiative. Mrs. Obama aims to expose students to college and career opportunities. Her initiative supports students and high school counselors helping them to get into college. "In today's economy, a high school diploma just isn't enough. Students have to reach higher, which is why the First Lady is working to rally the country around the President's "North Star" goal — that by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.” https://www.whitehouse.gov/reach-higher

9. In 2015, Mrs. Obama joined President Obama to launch Let Girls Learn. She aims to help girls reach the full potential. Michelle Obama knows the importance of an education female mind. “To educate a girl is to build a healthier family, a stronger community, and a brighter future. Unfortunately today, more than 62 million girls around the world are not in school—half of whom are adolescents. We know that countries with more girls in secondary school tend to have lower maternal mortality rates, lower infant mortality rates, lower rates of HIV/AIDS, and better child nutrition.” https://www.whitehouse.gov/letgirlslearn

10. Michelle loves the idea that is girl power and she aims to break the glass ceiling. She hosted a White House dinner to support mentoring programs for young girls. Mrs. Obama said, “Once you see somebody on TV it looks like it’s easy, but the truth is we only know many of these women once they’ve become famous, once they’re in the news. Faith and love and hard work — that’s what got us through. You don’t need money or connections. The question is, do you let that fear stop you?”

I speak for the people much like me who’s seen the change that Michelle Obama has implemented over these past 8 years when I say, that big pale house won’t be the same without you and your family.

Thank you, Mrs. First Lady, Thank you, Mrs. Obama, Thank you Madame GOAT.

“There are still many causes worth sacrificing for, so much history yet to be made” -Michelle Obama

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
