This has been an historic week at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Michael Phelps has become the most decorated Olympian of all time beating a 2168-year-old Olympic record. He also broke a 96-year record for the oldest man to win a gold medal in swimming at the ripe old age of 31. All totaled Phelps has 28 Olympic medals (and counting) if you add in the world championships and world competition medals his medal count is over 60.

When you are the best everyone is looking to take you down. Phelps didn’t just break world records this week he also started an internet meme, #phelpsface. This week when swimmer from South Africa Chad le Clos continued to trash talk Phelps, very smugly declaring that he would beat Phelps in the 200 Butterfly, Phelps barely mentioned it stating that he was going to let his swimming do the talking. While le Clos was warming up for the 200 butterfly battle Phelps sat down giving le Clos a look that warned he wasn’t going to loose without a fight. If looks could kill le Clos would have dropped right, there.

The internet took this picture and started created some hilarious memes from that great example of the ultimate game face.

This was the moment that le Clos realized that, maybe he shouldn’t have antagonized Phelps quite so much. Sports Commentator and former Olympian, Rowdy Gaines commented, “That is why you shouldn’t poke a shark”.

Phelps was by far the most famous story to come from the pools at the Rio Olympics but not the only one. Simone Manuel became the first African American to win a gold. She won the 100 freestyle.

When you mention amazing Olympians you can’t forget Simone Biles who dominated in Women’s Gymnastics winning by several points while most win by tenths of points. At 19 she is unquestionable the most talented gymnast in the world.

Not just in the pool and gymnastics but in every sport Team

USA has made us all very proud.

To the men and woman who work so hard, congratulations you have made us all proud to be an American

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
