It is the system that has a tendency to enforce the issue and mull over problematic tendencies. This is what I'd love to call a systematic failure. Here's what's wrong with a public fix: It often takes care of the surface of the issue.

For example, USC bringing is this wonderful, accomplished lady (who we hope stays forever!), but keeping Nikias around. You cannot pass on the title of figurehead and end up letting him retain power in a position. When we as students heard step-down, what we wanted was a step-down, and out of office, for real.

When the ladies in Hollywood heard #MeToo and we all agreed, we didn't just do it because we wanted Weinstein down, we did it because we wanted solutions to the many, many problems that are faced by women everywhere, every day, in every facet, of every community.

When, locally, we wanted problematic teachers and professionals out of our schools, we didn't want to keep the problematic administration that hired the issue in the first place. And that failed to handle the issue.

You see, it's a trend. It's not even a well-kept secret. It's not gossip if corruption is blatantly out there, it's just a fact. We're trying to shift the conversation here. We're working to fix yesterday's issues today in order to ensure a better tomorrow. We're making an unapologetic statement and calling a spade a spade.

For so long, it has been such an integral part of our culture to sit down and shut up about the taboo. But right now, we're getting a high off of calling out the obvious and taking out the trash.

Our taboo talk isn't inappropriate, but the actions we're discussing 100% are. And our vocab on those is what needs a second thought.

Nevertheless, we've still got to do something. No, I've never screamed from the top of my lungs to tear down the systems that oppress us, but I've done my fair share of throwing temper tantrums over it. However, loud voices only make the issue a presence in the room, but loud actions tear down walls brick by brick and break glass ceilings.

Shooting rockets into the sky make blasts for everyone to hear, and everyone to see.

It's important that we are allowing the two to work in tandem. And it's as equally important that we are calling out the systems/administrations/monsters/men/people/etc. who are enforcing and letting those of heinous behavior openly denounce justice. Call it out and take it out.

Throw the temper tantrum, but ensure that it has done its job. We are setting standards for our current #MeToo world.

There will always be bad guys. Those will always be obstacles we will have to overcome. But at any rate, that is exactly what we are meant to do. Hiding from the issues coming into the light does nothing.

Do not let the bad guys control the rhetoric of a hero's tale.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

225
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
