Your love story doesn't have to be crazy romantic for you to be crazy about each other.

I Met My Boyfriend At A College House Party And It's The Best Relationship I've Ever Had

I transferred to Ball State in the middle of my freshmen year from Indiana State, and I moved in with my sister. I didn't really know anyone else at all, so I would always follow her around to whatever party she was going to.

Just after a month of being here, we got invited to a party from one of her friends. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go because it was noon and I wasn't ready at all, but I decided to throw a hat on and make a mix drink.

It was an oddly nice, warm day in January. We got to the house and I only recognized one person I knew, and besides that I just followed my sister around or I just stood there not talking to anyone.

But I didn't get to stand there alone for too long because a guy came up to me and started asking me about me myself.

We talked for about the whole party. He had a familiar feeling about him so it wasn't hard at all to keep a conversation going. I felt like I knew him, but I was sure we had never met before.

But then he found out I went to Ivy Tech and basically roasted me the whole time for that the rest of the party. And then moments later he won flippy cup and insisted on standing on the table to show that he was the champion lol.

Once the party ended, my sister and I went back to the apartment and made noodles.

And that was it. That was how I met my future boyfriend of two years and three months now. Just at some little house party.

My point is, you don't need some crazy, magical, "love at first sight" love story for your relationship to be crazy, head over heels for each other. It might not have been love at first sight, but once we started dating it has been everything I could hope for.

I met my boyfriend at a college house party and it is the best relationship I have ever had.

I didn't know that that day back then would end up being the day I remember for the rest of my life, as the iconic first time we met story, and I wouldn't change it even if I had the chance.

I can't imagine if I decided not to go that day or if he didn't come up and talk to me. If we just kept missing each other or if he didn't think I was good enough.

But that's all impossible. None of those things could have happened because we were meant to be together.

The day we met just felt like any other day, but I think that's when the most amazing things happen in your life. On days where you least expect it.

It might not sound like a fairytale, but it is my favorite love story of all time because it is mine. Ours.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
