I was sitting in my room the other day thinking about all the games I used to play as a kid. I looked over at my video game “collection”, and saw the game Sim’s. What a terrible game that was so incredibly addicting. You basically would spend about 50 hours creating a house that was way too big for your two Sims, and then you would get annoyed at how needy they were.
Really, you can’t walk around the chair?
How hard is it for you to pick up your two little Sim’s feet and move around the chair. I told you to go take a shower, so walk to the shower. After about fifteen minutes of working on your other Sim you would look around the house to see the Sim you told to take a shower, waving its hand’s frantically needing help getting out.
As I was thinking about all the incredibly annoying things that the Sim’s would do while you played them, it made me think about a special book my family takes very seriously.
A Message To Garcia
If you don’t know what this book is about, here is a short synopsis:
The book is essentially about learning that you need to make things happen without asking for direction or help every step of the way.
Just like the Sim’s, people today have a serious problem when it comes to doing things on their own. If there are not step by step instructions on what to do they won’t do it. It is too much work, or a little bit confusing that they might have to think by themselves. I am not saying that you shouldn’t ask questions when you don’t know how to do something, but only after you have tried everything yourself to see if you understand it.
Don’t be like the Sim’s, pick up your feet, and walk around the chair. If you want to go far in life, you have to take initiative and make it happen.
