Message to All Seniors

For years all you have been saying is "I cannot wait for senior year." Well folks, it's here, and probably sooner than most of you expected.

Message to All Seniors

In the blink of any eye, your last high school summer has expired, and you are now only three months away from taking the stage and getting that diploma. Once you receive that piece of paper, your high school career will officially come to a close, so this is your reminder to savor every moment until then.

Use this as your "inspiration" to get through these next nine months. Yes, school will become more and more stressful throughout the year with tests, resumes, and … well everything, but don't let that stir you from living this school year to the fullest. Go to every single sports game, school dance, field trip, etc. Appreciate your teachers, coaches, parents, and anyone else who had helped you along your journey. Study for that big test, you will be glad…or binge-watch four hours of Netflix, you will still be glad, Laugh with your friends; cry tears of frustration over that one horrid class with your friends. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

But above all, do not waste your time here by wishing you were somewhere else (aka college).

The time for you to hug your parents goodbye will come sooner than you think. And when it does, you might find yourself wishing you were back here. Trust me on this, many of us college students still look back to when we were "counting down the days until graduation" and wish that we would have savored every minute with our friends we grew up with.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, do not waste this year. Enjoy every moment of it, no matter what that moment is. Time flies, so make sure to fill every second of this year with happiness, ambition, and, determination. Soak it all up because one day you will leave it all behind. And don't forget to live every second of life to the fullest.

Yes, college is a true dream for many, but we can not forget that where we grew up helped shape us into the person that we are today. So, please read this and take into consideration that instead of counting down the days until you are out of high school, to soak up every minute with your family and friends that have been with you since the beginning. This is the last time until college where you are surrounded by something so bittersweet and comfortable because college is a whole new ballpark.

In the wise words of Dr. Seuss, "You'll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut." Take this quote to heart and remember to not let these last few months go by without cherishing them because in a blink of an eye you will be looking back on those all-time highs and lows of high school.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
