As someone with Generalized Anxiety, I know how challenging everything in life can be. Sometimes we feel like giving up. Sometimes we don't understand why we are like this. Sometimes our minds haunt us even when we think we are happy—trust me, my mind is my worst enemy, and I can't be left alone with it.

I know that nothing can hurt me the way that my mind can kill me. I'm tired of feeling the way I do, but I know that it's too easy to fall back into the darkness. Instead, we have to encourage and support one another to continue fighting for our happiness, well-being, and self-love.

So, here's some inspiration to keep you going:

1. "You've come a long way."

No matter who you are, your past, your thoughts, your feelings, you deserve a hand of applause.

2. "Storms don't last forever."

For there to be dark times, there must be light times to compare.

3. "We are all born so beautiful. The greatest tragedy is being convinced we are not." (Rupi Kaur)

You are beautiful! Start telling yourself that you are gorgeous. Every. Single. Day.

4. "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." (C.S. Lewis)

You have all the power in your hands.

5. "You matter."

It's just that simple. You are worth it. You have potential. You can do it.

6. "Self-care is how you take your power back."

I like control and my anxiety used to take advantage of this characteristic, but I know that it's all up to me to take my control back!

7. "It is not overreacting to ask for what you want and need."

Surround yourself with encouraging and supporting friends, and they will be there for you! Allow them to help you when in need.

8. "How you feel isn't who you are."

You may feel a certain way, but that's not always reality. Grab a notebook and write down three ways you're incredible— do this every day and you'll start to believe it.

9. "Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls: the most massive characters are seared with scars." (Khalil Gibran)

Allow your experiences to positively influence you! It all depends on how you look at them and appreciate the good, bad, and ugly.

10. "Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn the light on." (Albus Dumbledore)

Stay optimistic! Your mindset is more influential than you know! Fake it until you make it, baby!

11. "Your illness is not your identity. Your chemistry is not your character." (Rick Warren)

You are not defined by your illness. Instead, let it teach you about the world.

12. "Someday this pain will be useful to you." (Ovid)

Everything happens for a reason. Use your life experiences to help you grow and learn. Don't let your pain be your weakness, but your strength.

13. "It's okay to be scared. Being scared means you're about to do something really, really brave."

Fear is an understandable emotion that every human being feels. Never feel embarrassed; instead, acknowledge the sentiment, think about why you are feeling that way, write down your thoughts, and seize the day! The bravest thing you can do, is keep going.

14. "Never apologize to others for their misunderstanding of who you are."

You are the way you are and you're perfect.

15. "You aren't the things that haunt you. You aren't the pain in your feet."

You are more than the monsters in your head. You have your unique personality, your goals, your wide smile, your quirky laugh.

16. You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward... Just take the next step."

There will be bumps in the road, but you just gotta keep trekking.

17. "Pain is real but so is hope"

Don't let anyone, including yourself, deny your pain, but always remember that hope has more influence.

18. "Just because you have a bad day doesn't mean you are failing."

One bad day won't ruin the myriad of good ones. Sometimes we need the stay-in-bed-all-day days, and that's more than okay.

19. "Sometimes it's okay if the only thing you did today was breathe"

You're breathing and taking in all that energy--that's amazing.

20. "Just because you think you're worthless doesn't make it true."

You are worth it, you are, but it's up to you to believe it.

21. "Don't believe everything you think."

Sometimes what you think and feel are different from what you know. My gut, my brain, my heart, my soul, they are never in agreement.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
