4 Men's Winter Clothing Essentials

The winter is coming and the cold weather will be here sooner or later. The weather can sometimes be so cold it will make you rethink going to class. However, this list of winter clothing will allow you to keep warm while staying stylish. The list includes many different pieces of clothing that are necessary for anyone living in Maryland during the winter or can even work for those living in colder climates.

1. V-Neck or Crewneck sweater

Sweaters are a great addition to an outfit because they add warmth and they create a more stylish appearance. A sweater can be made out of cotton or wool as well as the most comfortable material, cashmere. Cashmere is a special type of wool which is very fine and soft. In addition, there are different types of sweaters such as the v-neck sweater which is usually worn with a dress shirt underneath or a polo. A crew neck sweater can be worn by itself and is a little bit more casual than the v-neck sweater. With either type of sweater that you wear, they will always add extra warmth to your winter outfits.

2. A Parka Jacket

A parka jacket is usually a long coat that falls almost halfway down the thigh for the warmest jacket. It is usually worn over an outfit and it usually has a hood, which sometimes features a fur lining. The fur adds extra style to the jacket and the jacket is usually very warm because of the down fill that is inside the jacket. The jacket normally is one of the warmest jackets on the market and can be worn with almost anything.

3. A Scarf

While a scarf might seem like a fashion accessory of the past, it still is very warm and can provide additional style to an outfit. Scarfs are also very comfortable and soft which makes wearing them even more enjoyable. Making sure to cover up the neck and face can help prevent against frostbite.

4. Timberland Suede Boots

These boots are warm and add to a classic look as well as a more trendy look. The shoes go with almost any type of pants from jeans to sweatpants or even chino pants. The shoes are long lasting and durable as well as stylish. The shoes are comfortable and can be bought in many different colors.

Using this list, you will now be able to live through the Maryland winter much better and look better at the same time. Each of these pieces will increase your style in many different ways. The clothing will keep you warm and make sure that the weather doesn't affect the way you dress.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
