If You're A Guy Who Doesn't Watch 'The Bachelor,' Chances Are You're A Bachelor

I'll admit it, I like the Bachelor. I used to think it was a girly show, but my mom hooked both my dad and I on it back on Ben Higgins season. They advertise all of the drama in commercials, but if you really watch the show, it's hilarious. It starts with 30 women all living with each other and competing over the same guy. Now I know girls who are close friends and can't get along for more than a few weeks at a time, so imagine the kind of reality television that comes out of a bunch of girls who don't even know each other living together AND are dating the same guy.

On pretty much every season there's the same makeup of women. You've got a few girls that are really immature, and a few that are ready to get married. Then, there's a few that are always on camera and you know are going to be at the top of the Bachelor's list, and one or two that the producers try to hide until the very end that are almost like the "underdogs." Last, you have the instigator that hangs around until halfway through the series. The instigator is probably the best part of the season. She'll say and do some of the dumbest things that make you think that the whole thing has to be staged. My personal favorite from the instigator list was this crazy chick named Corrine that had a nanny. She was really entitled and it pissed off all of the other women. Hilarious.

This was her, psychopath.

On top of the humor that this show brings, for guys, it is a good way to get inside the heads of girls when it comes to relationships and dating. You can see what they're thinking firsthand and you can get some tips on how to handle different situations. Seriously, even though it isn't "real" dating, there are tons of examples of cool dates to try out, and it shows ways to defuse jealousy situations between girls on nearly every group date.

Another one of the best parts of the season is towards the end when they go home and meet the parents of the top three or so. Imagine meeting the girl you're dating's family for the first time, all while they know that you are dating two other girls besides their daughter. That leads to some of the absolute funniest encounters you'll ever see.

So guys, don't turn the channel when this show is on just because of the girly stigma that comes with it. If you're really that afraid that people will mess with you about it, just watch in secret. You won't regret it.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
