Men I Love On The TV Screen

If I talked about my book boyfriends, this list would be way too long.

Men I Love On The TV Screen

Seeing this title, you all probably expect me to write about fictional men from books that I love. But if I talked about my book boyfriends, this list would be way too long. I narrowed my favorite fictional men from the screen, either TV, movies, or Netflix. And, before anyone says anything, yes… some of these men are cartoons. Deal with it.

The Beast/Prince Adam from Beauty and the Beast

If you know me, this should come as no surprise. However, growing up, I don’t think I had a favorite prince. If anyone asked me as a child, I might have said Prince Eric, due to "The Little Mermaid” being my favorite movie. The Beast has become more of an adult crush in recent years, having watched the animated "Beauty and the Beast "film with different eyes, as well as the live-action adaption this past year.

Yes, I acknowledge the Beast has a temper and I can see why people think Belle might have Stockholm Syndrome. But when you compare him to Gaston, he’s a peach. Beast gives Belle a library and enjoys listening to her read. He treats her with the respect she deserves, once she shows him she is not going to take his crap, while Gaston wants her to be his little adoring housewife.

Trevor Belmont from Castlevania

"Castlevania" is an anime series on Netflix based off a video game surrounding Count Dracula. As a disclaimer: I actually did not love "Castlevania," though I did not hate it, either. What I did love was its protagonist, Trevor Belmont. He’s the stereotypical brooding, devil-may-care monster hunter that drinks too much, yet he has good intentions and he even puts his life on the line for people he barely knows. And his voice is literally the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard.

Dr. Beckham on To the Bone

"To the Bone" is a Netflix original movie starring Lily Collins as a 20-year-old girl battling anorexia. Dr. Beckham, played by Keanu Reeves, is the doctor that runs the group home she’s in. In addition to talk therapy, Dr. Beckham uses non-traditional methods in helping his patients, getting phenomenal results. You can tell he genuinely cares for his charges and his career is his passion. It doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes, either.

Dr. Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds

Many of you are probably squealing. Dr. Spencer Reid is a genius FBI agent and super awkward. But he’s sweet and he cares about people. He loves his team like family. He is motivated to do the right thing and he uses his intelligence to bring justice to criminals. He is good to his mother without being too much of a Momma’s Boy. Plus, he’s totally adorable. How can you "not "want this?

Samurai Jack from Samurai Jack

""

I had completely forgotten about the noble, polite warrior from one of my favorite classic Cartoon Network shows until my dad found the DVDs in the basement. We’ve been re-watching the whole "Samurai Jack "series this past week. I completely forgot how "good "this show actually was. And, of course, how hot the samurai is for a cartoon character.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
