What Do Men Really Think About Women In Overalls?

I have always been a huge fan of overalls—they’re simple and easy to dress up. But my significant other begs to differ. If you’ve ever sported this trend, do wonder what men think? My boyfriend and I could not disagree more on the topic and it lead me to do some research.

I polled eight real-life men ranging in age from 21-30 and got their input on “women in overalls.” The results are amusing, to say the least. Keep reading to see what men really think about overalls!

“I got to say the overall look has a southern kind of sexiness to it.” – Ethan, 22

“My thoughts are that I used to wear them when I was a kid. Maybe like six years old or less. Personally, I’m not a huge fan but I don’t hate on them.” – Dylan, 22

“They’re ugly and make you look like trash.” – Alex, 22

“As a fashion trend I find it pretty unflattering. However, overalls are utilitarian in design, so maybe the reason I don’t dig it is because they seem out of place in an urban setting and are not supposed to simply be a fashion statement.” – Dan, 30

“I actually like them. Most people do think they are too redneck or for farms but I think they look good on a lot of girls!” – Jordan, 21

“I think overalls can be really chill when a girl knows how to pull them off, but most of the time they seem like they’re trying too hard. Keep it simple yo.” – Tristan, 21

“I personally think girls can pull them off. Overalls can be very attractive on women, but it is the kind of outfit that isn’t for everyone.” – Alex, 23

“I think it definitely depends on the overalls but for the most part I really like the look. It doesn’t seem trashy at all.” – Isaac, 21

As it turns out, some guys really hate the trend and some find it sexy. As I was collecting male opinions, I though this piece would not be complete without some female input. Similarly, I polled eight women in their early 20s about the topic.

“I think overalls are the sh*t.” – Hanah, 22

“I love them. They are so comfy to wear but you still look good!!” – Kate, 20

“I think overalls are super cute. They’re perfect for an outdoor concert or picnic. The guys I know who like overalls do so because they think they’re sexy, and that’s funny to me.” – Hannah, 22

“I think they definitely give off “artsy” vibes in the city and “farmer” vibes in the suburbs or country.” – Cat, 21

“Personally, I think overalls have made a comeback. I have a pair of full-length black overalls that I like to sport with my straw hat and a crop top underneath… I also love it when guys can sport a pair of overall, too.” – Victoria, 20

“I love overall shorts but not the pants.” – Courtney, 20

“I don’t wear overalls but I definitely think they can be cute and trendy.” – Avalon, 20

“I think women and men can wear whatever they want... just depending on the overalls your look can make you look any way you want. It’s a clothing item that’s given a bad rep for women because we like to associate it with other things like children, or outdoor work.” – Danielle, 21

So, are overalls trendy or trashy? Women seem to be all for the summer trend but some men strongly disagree.

Maybe, women don’t necessarily dress to impress guys. Just a thought!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
