Thank You, High School Friends

Friendship can be bitter-sweet as this chapter comes to an end.

To my past and present friends,

I love you all so, so, very much! Most of us just graduated high school and I couldn't be more proud of the people we've become! I wish every one of you the best as we move on to a new chapter of our lives.

We became friends in freshmen year at lunch, not knowing who to sit by, yet we all came together somehow from different backgrounds and we made it work. I swear on my life we had the best time of our lives this year. I don't know if it's because we were naive, stereotypical freshman or because we just wanted to live life to the fullest and with no regrets. I, personally think it's the latter, mostly because everyone hated us when we hung out after school laughing obnoxiously in the lobby.

I remember sophomore year, we all branched out into our own mini groups, but we all respected each other. Lunch was still the highlight of the day and French class. Being one of the oldest in our French class was one of the best things. All the freshmen looked up to us. Mrs. Sullivan hated us, I swear, she didn't know how to deal with us calling each other across the room in the middle of class, or when my phone went off the one day I had the 'Sophia The First' theme song as my ringtone!

Junior year came and went and we barely said a word to each other. It wasn't 'cause we hated each other. We were just busy trying to find ourselves, who we wanted to be and where we wanted to go.

Senior year finally happened and we rekindled friendships, talked together more often and smiled more! This was my favorite year by far. Reminiscing about the years and what happened and what would've been. It was all good until prom rolled around and we started finalizing were we would go after graduation. From the local college down the street to Kent, Tennessee, Michigan and the workforce. It makes me sad seeing you all go. I honestly do hope we all keep in touch, whether it's liking each others' posts on Instagram to the occasional text.

Thank you all for the memories I'll truly never forget. Remember the food fight that happened in the commons and we ran all the way to Dieser's room because we got hit with a munchies box and a Gatorade bottle, or when we would only eat Flamin Hot's for lunch or nothing at all! I remember when Brittany J. blew up a condom so big that it popped when we were hanging out in the lobby.

Every day after leaving lunch early freshman year we would play 'In the Arms of an Angel' on full blast! I have no clue how we didn't get caught. Or that time when this guy was sending his friends over to get my number freshman year and you(my favorite redhead) told them that we were lesbians and you were my girlfriend! Thanks for that by the way.

I've had so many memories of you guys that are making it hard to let go, but, I know I need to...

So farewell my beauts, I love you and wish the best. I hope you never forget where you belong.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
