Fashion is kind of everywhere these days. Everything is in, from the '90s to '70s. Some of my favorites are being showcased on Instagram to streetwear to the girl sitting next to me in my 9 am class. This year, especially, there have been so many new trends that are so unique and interesting that I really hope that they don't stop after 2018 ends.

1. Doc Martens

Docs are such a classic shoe that made a comeback a few years ago, after its thrilling time of the '90s. The boots are so comfortable, literally go with every outfit, and definitely can add some edge to whatever you're wearing. I have had my own pair for about 2 years now and they are still in such good condition. This is a true staple that everyone should have in their closet before the new year.

2. Bike Shorts

One item I was very unsure about when they came onto the scene: bike shorts. However, Instagram baddies everywhere have been sporting the bike shorts trend and honestly, I have grown to love it. When paired with a cute crop top or sports bra and an oversized jacket, the outfit is so cute and surprisingly super comfortable. So, follow after Kylie and hop onto the trend.

3. Teddy Bear Jackets

Probably the biggest trend of 2018 is the teddy bear jacket. Literally, everyone I know has one or wants one. They are so oversized and comfy looking, plus they can make any outfit look casual or cute. It's such a staple and the warm oatmeal color still matches everything while still giving a pop of color, compared to the mostly black look everyone is usually sporting.

4. Tiny Sunglasses

I don't know why they are a thing, but they are. Plus, they are so fun. Sunglasses have become one of the most versatile accessories from colored lenses to tiny frames, they can really change an outfit. Plus, they are just so dang cute, I want to buy 100 pairs.

5. Brandy Melville Crop Tops

I feel like I can't go anywhere without seeing the classic Brandy crop top. Every white girl on the face of the planet owns one of these and honestly, I'm not mad at it. I have even been cropping cute graphic tees to look similar to this trend because it really changes the overall appearance of a top when it's cropped. Maybe it's just a fad, but I'm here for it.

6. Matching Sets

MATCHING SETS ARE EVERYTHING. The stress of matching a top and a bottom vanish when you buy a matching set. It's so cute and it's so simple. Plus, you have a multitude of options from sweats to business casual, to streetwear. You can't go wrong.

7. Off The Shoulder Jackets

We all love jackets, but something about exposing that one shoulder really just makes you look a little more fashionable. Sure, your shoulder may get cold, but hey, do it for the 'gram.

8. Patterned / Plaid Pants

The patterned or printed pant is such a perfect concept for the simple gal. Take any basic top and shoe, pair it with a patterned pant, and boom, instant fashion-forward outfit. You're welcome!

9. Bucket Hats

Now, I know everyone isn't on this trend, but I LOVE it. The bucket hat is such a throwback to the '90s and when paired with some sunnies or an interesting top, you have a really unique outfit. Plus, I just wanna look like Lizzie Mcguire every day so....

10. Conductor... '90s... Hat

I don't know the proper term for this hat. Conductor? The '90s? I don't know what it is, but it's cute.... on certain people. I'm going to be honest, not everyone can pull off this hat, but the right girl definitely can. And when they can, dang, it's so cute. I'm jealous!

11. T-Shirts Under Dresses

Something about a frilly, basic t-shirt under a dress screams girly to me. I love the pairing on everyone. I think it's such a unique way to change up a casual dress and every style can achieve the look, from edgy to pastel princess. Plus, it is such a throwback to the '90s (can you tell I love the 90's?).

12. Animal Print

All my friends and I have been so excited that animal prints are back, from leopard to cheetah, to zebra. As mentioned before with the patterned pants, prints really take a basic outfit to the next level. Prints can be tricky or intimidating, but with the right outfit and a bit of confidence, it looks great on everyone.

I know that fashions trends come and go, but these pieces have really been pushing the game lately. From clothing stores to Instagram, these throwbacks have stolen my heart and I am secretly praying that stick around to see 2019. But, who knows, what next years trends hold?
