If you scroll around on the Internet for long enough, you will inevitably come across a meme. “But what exactly is a meme?”, you might ask. In all honesty it’s kind of hard to explain, but it essentially boils down to a themed image relaying the author’s opinion on something or another (or just to get a laugh). And as this is the Internet, there are a LOT of opinions floating around, and consequently a lot of memes to express them. What you’re about to see is but a small taste of meme culture. For example…

Essentially, if there's a thought for it, there's a meme for it. Memes are today's social commentary on everything from daily struggles to major events, from people’s escapades to future endeavors. But in the way of commentary, perhaps there is no other topic that sparks it like politics. Given how turbulent this year's election is already, and if people on the internet attack something as simple as a slip of the tongue, of course they eat the presidential race up! It's like attracting bears to a beehive.

The point here is that now since we have the power in this age of technology, that everyone has the ability to express what they think and have it shared more than ever before. It just so happens that, somehow, it manifested itself into something utterly hilarious. Just don't take these memes too seriously and enjoy others’ sense of humor. It may not be a five-hundred-page article about why their opinion is correct, but that’s not always a bad thing. Memes are just a small way to brighten someone’s day, and we could all use a good laugh now and then.
