Recent News has revealed that Megyn Kelly, a news journalist on Fox News, will be leaving her former network for NBC News.
Kelly announced her leave via Facebook on the third of January. Her post read, "I have decided to end my time at FNC, incredibly enriched for the experiences that I've had."
Kelly began working with Fox over a decade ago and quickly became one of the network's biggest stars. In October 2013 Kelly began hosting her own nightly news program on the channel called The Kelly Files. According to TVNewser, a website that tracks TV ratings, Kelly became the second-most-watched host on cable news.
Now leaving this popular program, news states that NBC caught Kelly's attention with their triple role offer. Kelly will now be hosting her own daytime news program, anchor the Sunday night news show, and will also be taking part in the network's political and big-event coverage.
The exact terms of her new contract are not yet known, but Kelly writes that she is "delighted to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge." She also states that she will remain "deeply grateful to Fox News" for teaching her so much about what "really matters".
As an aspiring news reporter and writer myself, I have turned to Fox news for inspiration and Megyn has been an anchor that I have long looked up to. Her poise and tv presence are admirable attributes that I hope to bring to my own network one day. I am sad to see her leave but I am also confident that she will positively impact NBC just as she impacted FOX News.
Best of luck to you, Megyn.
