Dear future husband, treat me well and have a good sense of humor. That's all I ask. But dear Meghan Trainor's future husband, don't forget to buy her flowers on every single anniversary, tell her everything is fine when she's being crazy, and tell her she's beautiful every single night if you want to have sex.

Okay, okay. That might have been a little rude, but I can't be the only one who thinks Meghan Trainor's lyrics have taken a turn towards the road of selfish and self-centered. In the lyrics to Dear Future Husband, which was released in 2015, she literally says "After every fight/Just apologize/And maybe then I'll let you try and rock my body right/Even if I was wrong/You know I'm never wrong/Why disagree?/Why, why disagree?" Are you kidding me? If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Don't apologize just to keep the peace. I should be the one apologizing, ESPECIALLY if I'm wrong. Relationships are a two-way street. Oh, and what I said about not having sex unless you tell her she's pretty every single night? "Dear future husband/If you wanna get that special lovin'/Tell me I'm beautiful each and every night." It's literally right there.

I'll give Meghan the benefit of the doubt and say that she isn't really like this in her real life, but her music is sending a message that is quite the opposite. I liked her. I really did. She was giving me life with her female empowerment, but now I see she was just capitalizing on the body positivity movement to make her name, and then breaking into the "all about me" scene as soon as people knew who she was. All About That Bass (2014), and Lips are Moving (2015) were all about feeling good about yourself, and not taking anybody's shit. But all of a sudden, her music turned into I want this and this, don't even think about talking to me, and I'm so much better than you, that if I were you, I'd still want to be me.

I know some of you die hard Meghan fans are going to be upset about this article, but really, what kind of messages are these lyrics sending:

"I'll be sleeping on the left side of the bed (Hey)
Open doors for me and you might get some kisses
Don't have a dirty mind
Just be a classy guy
Buy me a ring
Buy-buy me a ring, babe " - Dear Future Husband (2015)

"I think it's so cute and I think it's so sweet
How you let your friends encourage you to try and talk to me
But let me stop you there, oh, before you speak
"Nah" to the "Ah" to the "No", "No", "No" " - No (2016)

"I walk in like a dime piece
I go straight to VIP
I never pay for my drinks
My entourage behind me
My life's a movie, Tom Cruise
So bless me, baby, achoo
And even if they tried to
They can't do it like I do " - Me Too (2016)

Come on, Meghan. You can do better.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
