Meeting A New Guy In College As Told By The Little Mermaid

In college you meet a lot of people. And you encounter a lot of love interests, hook ups, and potential relationship material guys. But despite our attempts to find the right guy, we always end up with the same pattern of behavior before realizing what we truly want and need.

1. Seeing him for the first time and instantly falling in love

2. Telling all your friends about him

3. Planning your future wedding in your head

4. Ignoring all your friends warnings about him being a fuckboy

5. Realizing your friends are right but you still want him anyways

6. Making sure you look on point for the party you're gonna see him at

7. Taking some liquid courage before being able to talk to him

8. Making a fool of yourself when you finally do talk to him

9. Skipping the talking and going straight to the dancing

10. Waiting for him to finally kiss you

11. Getting mad when you see him with another girl

12. Realizing he's just like every other guy

13. Deciding you're so much better than him and that you don't need a guy to be happy

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
