As many of you know, "The Big Bang Theory" has been quite the bang on national television. As season 11 wrapped up with a proposal, fans (including myself and family) are eagerly waiting for season 12.
"The Big Bang Theory" combines two things: humor and the ability to be a nerd without a care in the world. As Big Bang has captivated millions of viewers over the years, it is exciting to see what will come next— we don't need to wait for long! The CBS network announced last Monday it has officially picked up a new spinoff series.
On September 25th, 2017, everybody's favorite theoretical physicist, Sheldon Cooper, is getting his very own prequel TV series: "Young Sheldon" and we couldn't be more pumped!
It's 1989, and we meet 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper, who has skipped four grades to start high school alongside his less-intellectual older brother. We get a peek into the early year— with voiceover from Jim Parsons— of a genius who is misunderstood by his family, classmates and neighbors.
His mother preps him with what she thinks is the only tool he’ll need to survive at his new school. His twin sister, who’s happy to stay in fourth grade, has a better sense of what awaits Sheldon. Young Sheldon may understand Newtonian physics, but his blue-collar, church-going family only cares if that knowledge will help them win a football game.
Jim Parsons is an executive producer and I mean who could be a better producer of young Sheldon than Sheldon Cooper, himself. What I am eagerly looking forward to his the actor who plays little Shelly.
Iain Armitage, who is currently appearing in HBO's "Big Little Lies," will star as 9-year-old Sheldon with Jim Parsons narrating the series as the adult Sheldon.
Also exciting to see Zoe Perry play Sheldon's mother in the spin-off series. Zoe Perry is the real-life daughter of Laurie Metcalf, Sheldon's mother in Big Bang Theory.
We as fans have been devoted and have always craved more episodes from the show. And to our satisfaction, the show just gives and gives to us. We now get to see our little moon pie grow up through the years, being picked on by bullies, building a death ray, and fighting with his twin sister.
