There are many things in this world which we can’t control. But there is one thing which we can try to do. That is controlling our mind. Meditation is a mode of transforming the mind. It is a practice where an individual trains the mind or includes a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefits or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content, or as an end in itself. Controlling our mind is not an easy job.
We can control our mind by practicing meditation. Aside from a practice for spiritual growth or way to enlightenment, people also use meditation with specific purposes such as to reduce anxiety and stress or for pain relief.
There are many forms of meditation such as concentration meditation, reflective meditation, mindfulness meditation, heart-centered meditation and creative meditation or visualization.
Concentration meditation is the most important one in all among them. It is considered important in all the meditating forms because, in order to meditate we should try to focus on an object or nothingness -- this is to cut all the distractions for our mind. There are several types of meditation techniques in the concentration meditation category that help us to overcome distractions within and outside our mind and to be focused on what we think of. The different types of techniques that will help you gain concentration include Zen meditation, transcendental meditation, om meditation, shine meditation, chakra meditation. Reflective meditation is also known as analytical meditation and refers to disciplined thinking. Mindfulness meditation is one of the most powerful and alternative meditation techniques which is focused on cultivating a highly receptive mindful attention toward any action or objects within our influence. Heart-centered meditation and creative meditation are the two other forms of meditations where the heart-centered meditation helps to release all our fears and sadness and bathe in the radiance of loving kindness and compassion while creative meditation is a different type of meditation which will enable us to consciously cultivate as well as strengthen different qualities of our mind.
We are not human beings with a spiritual experience, but we are spiritual beings with a human experience. In this world, we are all seekers, seekers of the infinite light and the eternal truth. It means that we have accepted the spiritual life soulfully and consciously. The spiritual life is something that is natural and normal. It is natural and normal because it knows its source. The ultimate source of the spiritual life is God. God is the infinite light and the eternal truth. When we follow a spiritual life we can experience a life which is filled by peace and calming environment. In order to lead a spiritual life, we should follow several ways. One of such ways is to know our intentions. Our destiny is to move in the direction of our soul and the power booster of our destiny is intentions. Each day we live our life to fulfil our intentions. False intentions can be elusive, but we can recognize them by the feeling they carry.
The important thing which we need to follow if we are leading a spiritual life is meditation.
The role of meditation in leading a spiritual life is as important that without meditation it is really hard to lead a spiritual life in its complete form. There are many benefits for meditation in a spiritual life. It helps us in getting into a state of flow. It can be described in many ways. Flow consists of a harmonious state with positive qualities that helps to lead a joyful life. It also helps to improve our powers of empathy. Spirituality is seeking after happiness. It seeks happiness within ourselves. It teaches us to lead a better life and also has some other benefits such as, it also helps us to be happy in ourselves, it teaches us to be selfless and love our fellow man.
Actually, the spiritual path is not an escape from the real life. It makes the life more difficult. Some people think that, if we go to some ashram or something the spiritual path will be easier and don’t need to work hard. But it is a wrong thinking. The spiritual path is not an escape from what the real life is and the life of hard work or genuine action. In this situation, we need to put our heart and soul into our actions and be ready to put hundred percent of what we are.
There’s an old saying “the spirit works in mysterious ways.” Wouldn’t it be great to have a life that is filled by happiness and surprise? Waking up each day to new possibilities? This can and does happen and usually takes nothing more on your part, except the willingness and openness to let it happen. Meditation acts as a power booster in all our ways leading to the spiritual life and helps us to attain what we want.
Integrating the virtual environment into our spiritual lives takes time, but the more we practice it, the more we want to explore its benefits.
