I have had surgery once in my life - and it was just a minor dental procedure - but before we went into the surgery, my dentist told me every possible side effect of the surgery. By the time the dentist finished talking, I was pretty sure I was going to die in surgery, yet when a woman goes into an abortion, what do they tell her? "It won’t hurt," "You will be fine" and so on. This leads us to ask the question: Is abortion really that safe or are women not getting the whole truth?

The answer is the latter. In reality, there are plenty of things we are not told about abortion. Below are just a few:

1. When a woman has an abortion, she is 3.5 times more likely to die within a year than a woman who carries to full-term (learn more here).

2. A meta-analysis done by Dr. Yubei Huang et. Al. shows that after an abortion, a woman’s chance of getting breast cancer is raised by 44% and she is 2.3 times more likely to get cervical cancer, compared to women with no history of abortion (learn more here and here).

3. Women who have an abortion are 30% more likely to be infertile in the future and are more likely to miscarry (learn more here).

4. Women who have an abortion are six times more likely to commit suicide than women who carry to full-term and three times more likely to commit suicide than the general populace (learn more here and here).

5. Teen girls who have an abortion are ten times more likely to commit suicide than teens who don’t have an abortion and a teen can have an abortion without ever telling her parents (learn more here and here and here).

6. About 45% of women who have an abortion experience suicidal feelings soon after (learn more here).

7. 40% of women in a UK survey said that they wanted to keep their child, but external pressure influenced their decision (learn more here).

8. 2 out of every 3 women who have a late abortion [after 12 weeks] suffer from PTSD, which is what many soldiers are diagnosed with after active service (learn more here).

9. The British Journal of Psychiatry found that risk of mental trauma increased 81% after abortion (learn more here and here).

10. A woman who has an abortion is 110% more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs (learn more here).

But why don't the clinics that provide abortions, such as Planned Parenthood, tell us these facts? If abortion is just a medical procedure and clinics like Planned Parenthood are simply providing medical services to these women, then why are women not fully informed? Because Planned Parenthood isn't a friend who is there to lend a hand when women are in need; it is a business that makes a profit off of women who are in a bad situation. In 2009 planned parenthood made $1,100,800,000 from abortion. Even though the money Planned Parenthood made off of abortions was only 15% of their yearly revenue it was still 2.3 time the amount of money Donald Trump made last year. So, why doesn't this company tell women the whole truth? Because it would be bad for business and, in reality, that's exactly what Planned Parenthood is.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
