The recent election has been surprising in many ways, from the shocking Trump win to the protests that followed. However, what surprises me the most is the amount of media bias shown over the election.
I am not saying that Trump is a nice man by any means, (I personally didn't support Trump), but I will say that the media has presented him only in a bad light. All we ever seemed to see on any news outlet were his plans to "build a wall," (which has about a 0% chance of actually happening, and is completely ridiculous), and, most recently, his scandal involving sexual harassment. While these are newsworthy stories, we hardly ever hear anything "bad" about Clinton. There was her email scandal, but I haven't seen that on the news since the sexual harassment allegations.
While you may or may not believe this, some networks, specifically BBC, are experiencing actual backlash over "biased" news coverage. News anchor Andrew Neil was making jokes about the tense election live that Tuesday night, causing so much outrage that a Twitter user stated, "I wish David Dimbleby was covering this election. It’s stressful enough without Andrew Neil.," as quoted by Express. There was even a poll (based on popular opinion) done by Mediaite over which network presented the most biased election coverage (CNN took the lead just beating out Fox News).
While Trump may not be a saint, that doesn't mean that he should be bashed while little is said about Hillary's misdoings. These networks may support one candidate or the other, but they still need to cater to all viewers (Trump or Hillary supporters).
