Girls are the cruelest creatures to ever walk the earth and the older I get, the more I realize how much they get away with it. Think way back to elementary school when boys used to chase you on the play ground. Who got in trouble? The boys. Now, turn it around. I do not remember a single time my girl friends and I got in trouble for chasing boys. Fast forward 20 years and now the "play ground" is different. It is now your college campus, the bars, concerts, and wherever you and your friends hang out, and yet some of you girls are acting just the same.
I am constantly hearing how men are the pigs for hitting on the girl in the skimpy clothes, flirting with the cute girl at the party when he is in a relationship, hooking up with the girl at the bar that may be a little too drunk or taking a girl home when he shouldn't be. Let me ask you this girls...how many of you are the ones in those skimpy clothes? Letting the guy with the girlfriend hit on you? Being the girl that's a little too drunk at the bar? Or taking a boy home when you shouldn't be?
You know who you are. You are 110% just as guilty. How come you don't get called a pig for that? How come it is okay to shame and belittle men but as soon as a girl is called out for their shameful acts, they try to use every excuse society has in the book? Forget the excuses. It is not okay, and for some reason our generation thinks it is acceptable to put all the blame on the guys, and it has to stop. You know he has a girlfriend. You know you are asking for attention when you wear those spandex around and show up to the bar in a "shirt" that looks like a bra.
Don't get me wrong, I am not by any means excusing the behavior of some men, but we hold just as much as the blame. Our generation is lacking self respect and common decency more and more every day. As females, we know how much it sucks to be a girl, so stop being the reasons for each other's trust issues. Stop chasing the wrong boys on the playground. Respect him. Respect yourself. Respect the girl at the other end. Stop blaming the boys of our generation on our behavior. Put some clothes on, correctly represent those Jesus tattoos, take responsibility, and keep your hands where they belong.
