Looking down,
We admire our newest phones,
Shoes, wrist watches, our recent paychecks.
We see those beneath us,
Those with less than us,
That sadistically make us feel more worthy.
Looking ahead, we see our brand new televisions,
Newest cars, the endless hours of work, the endless horizon clouded by concrete buildings,
And an obstacle-filled life.
Looking side to side, we see people,
But they’ve become less human.
We see them as our competition, our enemies.
"How many heads will I have to step on to build the ladder to success?"
However, when we look up,
We see an enternal sky,
The heavens above, an unknown universe.
We see stars and a moon that we will never touch,
But, regardless, we are overseen by this galaxy.
This world’s greatest thinkers have all looked up,
And from this they supplemented their lives
With the endless thoughts provoked by the openess of our universe.
So, if you want to live,
Look up.
