Touch is the symbol of proximity with one another.

As humans we seek different forms of communication. We need it to coexist and to satisfy our very basic needs. We are extremely complex beings living together in an ever more complex environment that creates barriers and sets standards to the purest forms of communication within each other; sometimes preventing us to interact naturally. How sad to think that we are so much more than what our surroundings are allowing us to be.

Sight, hearing, taste and smell are all part of our interaction with our environment and therefore a form of communication. Let´s not forget touch as a form of communication too. There might be a little restriction with this one, because we are set to believe and feel that there is something wrong with it. It seems like a taboo was created for the natural behavior of touching each other. We even dare to feel uncomfortable by the gentle touch of someone else. There is a lot to consider when it gets to the nonverbal form of communication as it is complex, it could be simple if we allow it to be. As natural as it is, boundaries will fall naturally and then real and pure communication will emerge.

As simple as it sounds, there is much greatness and power in a simple touch, a stroke, a short hug or a subtle pat on the shoulder. We will always need it to exist, to belong, show acceptance, love and recognition with one another. Touch is the symbol of proximity with one another. Feeling and acknowledging another person manifested in a reciprocal action of giving and receiving, an action of pure humanity in which we assume it spiritually and physically.

Today more than ever, we need to look around us and notice the people around, the ones close to us and the ones with whom we share a short encounter. Do not forget that the minimum manifestation of affection can be the difference between life and death, loneliness and the sense of belonging, or the merely recognition of existence.

Never be afraid of a gentle touch, of giving or receiving it. Give a little of you and accept what is given to you. There will always be a marvel in your touch.

Toilet Troubles

"So, usually I would never go on a Tinder date but when you are out with girlfriends and a hot Bosnian guy says he wants to hang with you and his friends, you oblige. We head to their apartment and when I realized I may pee my pants if I don't find a bathroom soon. I ask for the bathroom and a friend of my tinder date shows me to it and said in all seriousness that I was not allowed to flush the toilet under ANY circumstances. Having a few drinks--or five--I relieved myself to, nevertheless, flush the toilet. Within seconds, his bathroom was flooded and towels were laid out everywhere to catch the toilet water. To say the least, we were not invited back"
