Have you ever thought what it would be like to marry a total stranger? Have you ever considered the fact that you could perhaps find true love in doing so? FYI has an extremely controversial social experimental show that follows six brave singles yearning for a life-long partnership as they agree to get legally married to a complete stranger the moment they first meet. After extensive interviews, questionnaires and house visits, three experts create what they believe are three perfect couples, based on scientific match-making. The couples will not meet until they walk down the aisle and see each other face-to-face, for the first time, at the altar. Over the course of several weeks, episodes capture each couple’s journey as they go from wedding, to honeymoon, to early nesting, to the daily struggle of working on their marriage. After six weeks together, each couple must make a decision: do they remain together or decide to divorce?
The show "Married At First Sight" is one of my favorite shows. My family and I have watched it from the very beginning and I can see honestly say there is never a dull moment. I highly recommend the reality TV show to any hopeless romantics, anyone looking for a show that questions societal norms and to viewers who enjoy watching shows like "Say Yes To The Dress" and "The Bachelor/Bachelorette." The show is currently on their fourth season but the other seasons are available online for viewing. This season is unlike the others as Dr. Pepper has brought with her two new experts in hopes of having more successful marriages. And although the show hasn’t had much success in marriages the previous three seasons, there are two examples that the social experiment can be successful. Jaime and Doug as well as Jason and Cortney are two couples from season one who have been happily married since 2014. Their relationships weren't perfect and they faced many hardships, but have overcome them. You can catch up on their progress in their tv series "Married At First Sight: The First Year." So give it a try, you might end up liking it.
