There’s something different about the air. The bitter cold edge of winter has seemingly disappeared. Disappointments that may have occurred throughout the past few months have been wiped away, and a fresh start is on the horizon. Here are some more reasons why we are more than ready to welcome spring.
1. Warmer weather
For the past couple of months, you’ve dreaded stepping outside of your building. When you were forced to brave the bitter cold for class or work, you were greeted by freezing temperatures, flurries and strong winds. Those days will soon be nothing more than memories. Temperatures will continue to increase and you will forget you even own a North Face.
2. Fresh wardrobe
It’s time to part with your bulky winter jacket and heavy knit sweaters. The dreary days of winter are done and bright colors are headed your way. Bold prints, pinks, oranges and flowers start to take over your wardrobe, but you wouldn’t want it any other way.
3. Longer days
You want to grab food in the city, but it’s dark before dinner time. You don't want to walk there and back in the dark... Not anymore. The sun will stay out longer and you’ll feel more comfortable venturing around the city into the evening hours.
4. Easter
This holiday is by far the best day of spring. Celebrating resurrection, spending time with family and friends, coloring eggs and eating a feast comparable to Thanksgiving. It truly doesn’t get much better than that.
5. Spring break
Just when you think you might not be able to make it to the end of the semester, spring break saves the day. This time off gives students the opportunity to re-energize and prepares them to finish the semester strong.
6. The end of the semester
Even though it’s called summer vacation, it begins during the season of spring. You survived another semester and now have some much deserved time for relaxation.
7. Going home
Time to get back to the place you know the best and rejoin the people you love the most.
8. The start of baseball season
Nothing marks the start of a new season quite like tailgating, nine innings and a fresh lineup. Play ball!
9. Spending time outside
Take a hike. Go for a run. Walk downtown. Spend a day at the beach. Celebrate the beginning of tolerable weather by getting outdoors.
10. Tax refunds
Instead of dishing out more money for school, books, rent and bills, it’s about time your bank account gets a little break.
11. Spring showers
Put on your rain boots and grab your umbrella. Light drizzles can be expected throughout the next couple of months. Nothing compares to the sound of rain drops tapping against your window as you fall asleep.
The season of spring is officially here, and you will be able to see even more signs of it very soon. Finish the semester strong, enjoy the rising temps and be sure to catch a ball game or two.
