Before you jump into a season sure to be filled with chaos, romance, drama, and shocking cliff-hangers, get to know the man on the screen that will steal your heart with these 12 facts.


1. Ben is originally from Warsaw, Ind. and currently resides in Denver


2. Ben works as a business analyst


3. He graduated from Indiana University

He earned his Bachelor's in business administration in 2012 and founded the college's club basketball team while he was a student.


4. He's the only child of David and Amy Higgins


5. He's 27 years old


6. Standing at 6'4" he's quite the tall drink of water


7. He's very religious

In fact, the Bachelor volunteered in Peru during college, worked in student ministries at his hometown church, handled marketing and fundraising at a youth club, and has a tattoo of Proverbs 16:3 on his torso: "Commit to the Lord, whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."


8. He's well traveled

Ben has been to Bolivia and while he volunteered in Peru, hiked Machu Picchu. Before the start of Season 20 filming, Ben worked with Humanity and Hope United Foundation in Honduras.


9. His hobbies include basketball, hiking, and fishing


10. His favorite sports are golf and football


11. He's quite the handyman

He reroofed his house, built a sidewalk, and handles his own lawn maintenance...and looks good doing it.
