With the NBA draft a couple of days away, questions have been brought up as to where Markelle Fultz will end up.
In early mock drafts, Markelle Futlz seemed to be the number one pick for the Boston Celtics.
Fultz who has the same alma mater as Celtic guard, Isaiah Thomas, has made it public he would love to play for Boston. Boston have met with Fultz for a workout but are also considering Kansas forward, Josh Jackson.
However, with less than a week from the June 22nd deadline, many teams have had some interest in the freshman from Washington University.
Futlz recently had his workout with the Los Angeles Lakers and the front office apparently loves him. Lakers' president of basketball operations, Magic Johnson, is starstruck after seeing Fultz participate through the teams workouts. The Lakers are now thinking of trading their number two pick and forward Julius Randle to Boston in order to secure Fultz at the number one spot.
If the Lakers are able to land Fultz, it might help them speed up their rebuilding process. In Fultz's lone year at Washington he averaged 23.2 points, 5.9 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Although it is very unlikely the Celtics would pass on the scoring guard, the Lakers have been doing their homework on him. However, the Celtics have also considered drafting Fultz and utilizing him in a trade. As of late, they have been in contact with the Sixers on possibly swapping their number one pick for Philly's third.
Fultz's potential in the league could be limitless, however, his NBA team destination is not set in stone.
