Music Goddess, Mariah "the" Carey released her fifteenth studio album "Caution" on the 16th. Needless to say, it's a big deal. Mariah Carey has had a career spanning over 20 years. She is one of the top-selling musical artists ever! We know her! We love her! Still, it has been four years since our last MC release. And "Caution" is exactly what the Lambs needed to guide them into 2018 Mariah Season.

What is "Mariah Season" you may ask...

To put simply, Mariah Season is Christmas time. Or the time of the year where Christmas music gets the most play. I consider it to start the Friday after Thanksgiving and last until January 5th.

What does this have to do with Mariah Carey you may ask...

Mariah owns Christmas time. This is a literal and actual fact. We credit this to her 1994 smash hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You." It is considered the best-selling modern Christmas song. The song is over 20 years old, yet every year, it manages to re-chart on Billboard. Last year, it even peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's also the 11th best-selling single of all time. It has been said that the single garners Mariah roughly 17 million dollars in royalties each year. There is even a children's book and animated movie based on the song. Both with the same name.

Outside of that particular song, Mariah Carey has two Christmas albums: her 1994 "Merry Christmas", which is still the best'selling holiday album of all time, and her 2010 "Merry Christmas II You."Both albums have tons of hits original and classic: "Oh Santa," "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," "Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)." Anyway, the point is, even if you can somehow avoid listening to Mariah Carey from mid-January until late November (which is unhealthy), when the holidays come around, it's impossible to escape her.

Getting back to "Caution." Despite only charting at No. 5 on the Hot 200 albums, I feel it's one of Mariah's best in a long time. It has received positive reviews from critics all around. She's really solidified her matured R&B sound. Each song is very refined, well written, and true to her. She also seems to tap into a style she's never quite reached before. She has also announced a tour for the album and has been doing quite a few live performances.

Not to mention that "With You" is the only official single released from the album. Hopefully, we can expect at least two more music videos. Why the timing is so perfect is because she's gonna have us listening to her music all the way through the end of the year. While the hype around the new album is fresh, the holiday spirit is impossible to ignore. Whether you're jamming out to your favorite Christmas joint or revisiting the classics; Mariah got us hooked with her incredible music!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
