Margot Robbie is now undoubtedly a household name thanks to her breakout role as Naomi Lapagalia in "The Wolf Of Wall Street." Many considered her to be an overnight sensation, claiming she came out of nowhere. Some might take this as a compliment and run with it, however Margot finds this offensive and rightfully so.
Margot began her career 5 years prior to this role, acting in independent Australian films and even landing a breakout role for the Australian television show Neighbours. She became a hit in Australian and made the decision in 2011 to move to Los Angeles and take her career to the next level.
Years before Margot moved to Los Angeles she worked day in and day out on her craft while juggling three different job at the age of 16 to support her family. She got involved with local plays around town to sharpen her craft for she did not have enough money to take private classes and hire an acting coach to further excel in her craft. After taking part in a short independent film directed by a friend, she knew that this is the career she wanted.
Many people say that it takes more luck than talent to make it in hollywood. This may be the case for some actors, however with Margot there was more talent than luck to bring her to where she is today. She was granted an opportunity to audition for the role of Naomi, beating out other top a-list actresses such as Olivia Wilde. She didn’t just get lucky, she saw an opportunity and ran with it.
I said this time after time, Margot Robbie will go down as one of the best actresses of our generation. She is more than just a pretty face on your television screen. She is an actress who fell in love with the craft of acting and has a God given gift for it. She has worked hard to be where she is today and deserves some more recogonition for it.
