Few things in the world compare to marching band season. The excitement, the pageantry, the (sometimes literal) blood, sweat and tears, and the friendships. As fall comes back around, here's an article to get you hyped for this marching season! Go band, and let's thank cartoon embodiment of the trumpet section, Spongebob Squarepants, for helping us out in explaining just how awesome marching band is.


1. Marching band is basically one giant nerd-fest, in the best way.


2. It keeps you in shape.


3. ALL the free snacks/meals. Thank you, band sponsors!


4. You make friends for life.


5. You learn how to stay energized while traveling at any hour of the day (or night).


6. Music makes you more cultured.


7. AND smarter.


8. You get the best seats in the house to watch the games.


9. Band calves. Enough said.


10. And finally, knowing there's nothing like performing for fans who love your music, having the time of your life with your best friends.
