I attended the March for Life on Friday, January 19th. It was my second trip to the march, and it was just as incredible as my first. I was particularly moved by the speakers and what they had to say. I was moved to tears again and again. And I was moved to share some of the best statements made with everyone I can. These are just

of the best statements made by the speakers of the March for Life.

Metropolitan Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, Orthodox Church of America

"I come here to speak out the Gospel, to speak for the one who died for the life of the world."

"The truth is that every human being is in your image and everyone's life finds infinite value in you, regardless of our sins."

Jeanne Mancini, March For Life President

"Over these past 45 years abortion has claimed the lives of over 60 million Americans, and we grieve their loss. But, over these 45 years, the March for Life has persevered, growing to become the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world."

"Your love is saving lives"

"We are not planning to march for 45 more years."

"Choosing life, especially when a woman is facing an unexpected pregnancy, is not easy. No one said it was. But it is the right choice. It is the empowering choice. It is the loving choice. And it is the self-sacrificial option."

Sr. Bethany Madonna, Sisters of Life

"As sisters of life we have the privilege of serving courageous woman pregnant, tempted, afraid, and we see Jesus's perfect love cast out fear and make all things new."

"Whether you cry or you laugh, if you're here, you're blessed. You're put here for a reason." -Raquel

"You may not see the impact of your love, but God sees it. The love of your heart is totally unique to you, and only you can give it. Your Love saves lives."

"I love to think about fingerprints. They're my favorite because no two people in the world have the same fingerprints, out of the millions and billions who have ever existed. And I love to think if God is going to take so much time to arrange and design the invisible circle patterns on the the end of your fingers to be totally unique to you, how much more the love in your heart. It is yours. He is calling you. He trusts you. He has a beautiful plan. He needs you. Say yes, and you will be happy and joyful. Amen!"

Vice President of the United States Mike Pence

"My fiends, life is winning in America, because love saves lives. And know as you march for life that your compassion, your persistence, your activism, and your prayers, are saving lives. And this pro-life generation should never doubt, we are with you. This president stands with you. And He who said, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you", is with you as well." -Vice President Mike Pence

President of the United States Donald J. Trump

"The march for life is a movement born out of love. You love your families, you love your neighbors, you love our nation, and you love every child, born and unborn, because you believe that every life is sacred, that every child is a precious gift from God." -President Donald Trump

"Under my administration we will always defend the very first right in the Declaration of Independence, and that is the right to life." -President Donald Trump

House Speaker Paul Ryan

"Do you know why the pro-life movement is on the rise? Because truth is on our side. Life begins at conception. Do you know why the pro-life movement? Because science is on our side. Just look at the ultrasounds that have shown us more about the pre-born child than have ever before, how they develop, how they react, how they feel pain. And most importantly the pro-life movement is on the rise because we have love on our side. We believe every person is worthy of love and dignity. That is why the pro-life movement is on the rise."

"This is true compassion. This is real love. That's what this movement is all about, and its why the March for Life is such a joyful march."

"You are marching with joy and hope, not with anger and with hate."

U.S. Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ)

"This movement has reached out to protect those women who have had abortions, to love them, to care for them, to silent no more women who are the new face of the pro-life movement, who speak to the media and through the media to the women throughout this country to say please rethink what you are attending. Please, have that baby."

"We need to double down on our prayer for healing, we need to increase our fasting, and we need to ask God for wisdom, for healing, so that we will do our duty to protect the weakest and the most vulnerable."

U.S. Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA)

"What if, every baby was given at least a shot to reach their true potential? Who would we be as a nation? What richness would we get to see, instead of the equivalent of two generations missing because of that choice? Would we have already witnessed one of these individuals finding a cure for cancer, or the key to eradicating extreme poverty? What if we had spent the last 45 years pouring that time and that money into finding cures in the womb for medical conditions like Spina Bifida or Microcephaly, or Congenital Heart Defects? What if that money was used to end the babies disease, and not the babies life?"

"Today we have come together to say there's hope for every expectant mother who has been given a devastating diagnosis, for every woman who feels fear or anger or anxiety because she doesn't know how she can afford to care for that child, for every woman who feels hopeless, Jesus loves you. and for every baby that's been given up on by the status quo, Jesus still does miracles."

Matt Birk, former NFL player

"You know, they say if you can't explain an idea or a concept to a third grader, either you don't understand the idea, or it's not a good idea. You can't explain abortion to an eight year old. It doesn't make any sense. And what that means is this is not a battle of logic, because if it was, abortion would have ended a long time ago. This isn't a battle for the mind. This is a battle for hearts."

"It's important to remember that those who are pro-abortion, the war is not against them, it's against the evil of abortion, that those people, they are our brothers and sisters. They are children of God. They are made in His likeness."

"What is more beautiful than a brand new baby? A brand new baby is perfect. It looks perfect. It sounds perfect. It smells perfect. It's pure, it's incapable of resentment, or hatred, or anger. It's perfect. So I would tell someone that I care about, i'd say I don't want you to have an abortion, because it would prevent you from experiencing the fullness of joy that God has for your life."

Pam Tebow, mother former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow

"But if I had died in childbirth, God would still be God wouldn't He?"

"But because of our love for the life in the womb, we chose to trust God and refused to have an abortion."

"You know, this is all a God story, so He gets all the credit."

"When Timmy entered the world he (the doctor) said, "This is a miracle baby". He said, "I've never witnessed such a miracle", because only a tiny piece of the placenta was intact. He was somewhat malnourished though, so we asked all of our family and friends in the states to pray that he would grow big and strong, and if you've seen him lately, you'll know God answered those prayers."

The March for Life continues to change my life, to grow my heart, and to inspire me to do more and more to protect the unborn. If you have never attended the March for Life, I encourage you with everything in me to go next year. I will see you there! May God bless you, and may you be an advocate for the right to life, proclaiming the Gospel, and showing the Love of the Lord to everyone you can. After all, love saves lives!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
