A Map Of The West Campus Dining Hall

It's like "Mean Girls," but without the Plastics.

Anyone that has ever eaten in the West Campus dining hall can tell you that there is at least a slight resemblance to the cafeteria scene in "Mean Girls." Each sports team, group of friends, or individual person seems to have their own designated "area" of the dining hall that they gravitate towards when they go to eat. If you find you need a refresher on the geography of the dining hall, feel free to refer to this crash course.

High-top tables located right in the middle

These tables are typically sports team territory, with the occasional frat table sprinkled in. You'll usually see softball players, both men's and women's basketball players, and soccer players here. The booths located right behind these tables are also occasionally included in this.

The long table next to the grill station/condiment station

This table is also sports team territory. You will typically see men's and women's basketball players here.

The long booth located in the main dining circle

There are a lot of athletes that live in West Campus, therefore there are a lot of athletes that eat in West Campus dining hall. For this table, or series of tables, you will typically see rowers eating here. This is also a place where students who want the comfort of a booth and the competition level of the hunger games (no pun intended) sit, because there's only a booth on one side.

That one oval-shaped table in the main dining circle

It's the men's hockey team's table. Always.

The large round tables in the main dining circle

These tables host a variety of people, ranging from large groups of friends to even larger groups of people on sports teams. You will often find swimmers and people on track and field sitting here, although large groups of friends and some frats choose tomake an appearance as well.

The tables located right next to the windows

These tables are some of the most coveted in West. Many groups will try to snag either the longer tables across from the soda machines or the shorter ones in the main circle to accommodate their friends. A lot of people who eat here choose these tables for the view they provide, which is perfect for people watching. Many others who eat here are the people that get to the dining hall and sit there for hours doing work/studying. This seat right next to the window helps people gauge how many hours they've been sitting there. It also provides a nice distraction when work is just too much.

The square tables located in the main dining circle

Most of the time, this is overflow from the window tables that are located in the middle circle.

The "quiet" area

Typically, people that either have to get stuff done or just like a quieter dining experience will sit here. You will often see people on Netflix/other sites that sitting in a louder area of the dining hall would allow.

The other three corners

These areas have much less traffic and are typically quieter. The corner where the pasta station is located has at least one guy in a sports jersey sitting in front of one of the televisions that are usually playing some sporting event.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
