Hey guys! How are you doing? Or in Tagalog: Hoy! Musta na?

My name is Marc (I go by my middle name, I might talk about my first name later on), last name Feliciano and I am a new content creator for Odyssey and I can’t wait to add my voice in this groundbreaking content-driven publishing source site.

Who are you again? Sino ka ba ulit?

Well thank you for asking! My name is Marc Feliciano. I was born on June 8th, 1992 in Manila, Philippines. That means I’m a Gemini and born in the year of the Monkey. I came to the United States when I was eight years old. I first lived in Virginia for a year and moved down to Georgia and have lived here ever since.

Being Filipino in a southern state was very interesting to say the least, like a fish out of water. If you’ve ever seen or heard of the show “Fresh of the Boat” on ABC, I have a somewhat similar experience to the main character. My family dynamic is a completely different from the show and I can’t wait to share my stories about how similar and different I am with my family and my diverse group of friends.

What’s so different about you? Ano ang nakakaiba sa iyo?

This is a loaded question. First things first (I’m the realest… yes I am lame, I do apologize) I am going to be a photojournalist. I am a visual person so expect numerous images in my content. All of the pictures that I place in my post are all taken by me… except for this picture because my friend took it during my oath ceremony. But yes, the photo credit will be mine.

Second, as I said before, I lived an interesting life. From moving to America, moving to the south, changing family dynamics, interest changes, personal tragedies, etc. Basically I use everything that I have experienced for the past 16 years (that’s how far back I can remember anything) as a guideline to my posts and will compare and contrast my life back then to now.

Lastly, as most you guys know, we are all part of different communities. I am part of the LGBT, Filipino-American, recent graduate, technical communicator and Millennial communities. So yes, I will cover numerous topics that affect me, I will give voices to those who do not have a platform, and explore topics outside of my expertise to give myself and you readers knowledge that you have never realized that you need. I will do interviews with friends and family that helped shape me and self-reflections of me as a person. So get ready for a roller coaster of emotions coming your way.

What can we expect from you? And ang maasahan namin sa iyo?

You’ll have to have to wait. I can’t just reveal everything to you in the first post. ;-)

Let the fun begin! YASSSSS!!!!! #slay

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
