No, it is not a reason to stare. No, it is not something bizarre. No, it is not some social statement. No, it is not my way of asking for help.
Yes, I am a man who wears make-up. Yes, I feel more confident with my face all snatched up and glowing from the excessive highlight. Yes, I know what that Morphe E31 brush is for.
In this day and age men all across the globe have been openly wearing make-up more and more. No, it is not because they are identifying as trans, but so what if they are? Makeup gives a power that nothing else can. It allows the user to emphasize natural beauty.
As a man who wears make-up himself, let me say this, makeup is an art that everyone should be able to enjoy without the fear of judgement and scrutiny. Ever since I was little make-up fascinated me because it would hide the imperfections that come with skin and allow individuals to enhance their beauty and be confident in their skin. Now I'm not saying that everyone needs to wear make-up cause some people just have that skin that just wants to be shown of natural, but for the rest of us make-up is something amazing.
For a while I always put make-up on but never did I really go out with it on until just a year ago. I was afraid that I would be outcasted for wearing make-up, but no one cared. That also could have been possible because I have a great group of friends. Now, after a year, I can confidently walk into Ulta and happily ask to be color matched for a new foundation and ask which bronzer goes well for my skin. Now don't get me wrong, I still have those moments that I am still on edge, but I have had some inspiration from different makeup artist to help me be comfortable such as Manny MUA, Patrickstarrr and Jeffree Star.
Everyone should be able to wear makeup without having to worry about being labeled with something for doing so. Everyone shouldn't have to worry about being judged when they walk into a makeup store to shop. Everyone should be granted comfort in being able to enhance their beauty. Make-up isn't made for a single group. Makeup is for everyone.
