Thank you.
Just thank you
I know those words just aren't enough, but it is a good place to start.
Thank you for the lessons you taught me, and thank you for the things you sometimes left unsaid. Thank you for loving me even in my not so lovable moments. Thank you for your smile that could light up an entire room. Thank you for the wisdom you shared not just with me but with many. Thank you for being not only a mentor but a friend.
The world just won't be the same without you. The sun shines a little less bright, the bird's song isn't as sweet, and it is a little harder to laugh. While it hurt that you are gone, I find comfort in knowing you are in a better place.
Being the Godly man you are taught me to be the Godly young woman I am today. Sitting in your living room and singing songs and praying changed me. Listening to you preach and sing, watching God work through you right before my eyes. Seeing you preach gave me the confidence to go up there and say the message God has had on my heart.

I remember right before I left for Mission Camp this last summer and we prayed for God to break down some barriers that were holding me back from serving God. And that is exactly what happened. It amazed everyone( even me) but it didn't amaze you. As we talked about it when I returned home and told you how amazed I was you just gently smiled.
You saw such potential in me even when I didn't know what I was going to do with my life. You taught me that when life gets tough to seek Jesus. Time and time again I would come to you with the same problems and you would always give me the same advice. You know I am stubborn, and you are as well, so you would tell me something until I got it into my stubborn head.
You taught me that when Jesus comes into your heart you are never the same again. Jesus transforms your life and changes your heart, and though it can be a little painful it is worth it. You taught me that when life is tough you get into the Word and pray.

You taught me there is so much more to life than this earth and that was the hardest lesson for me to learn. The last time I saw you before you died you told me that you had one last sermon left, and I believe that your last sermon is the one after you died. Your last sermon is left in the hearts and lives of the many people you touched. Your last sermon is left in those who are left behind, and continue to live our lives in service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your last sermon is the wisdom you taught and the love you shared.
You changed my life, and you changed me.
Thank you.
I will never be the same now that you have been in my life.
Thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you.
