With the election of the new President comes a lot of extra talk about specific topics that may not typically be discussed. One of the big topics of discussion throughout the media is the topic of abortion. This is a sensitive subject for some people while for others it is a no brainer.

One of the many beauties about living in the United States is that everyone is entailed to their own opinion and have the right to stand up for what they believe in. The saying is "you really don't know someone's situation until you walk in their shoes." So categorizing ALL women under one umbrella is wrong.

NO ONE likes abortion so being Pro- Choice does not make me want abortions to happen but every situation is different for every person. So I am standing up for ALL the women. Deciding to have an abortion has to be one of the most heartbreaking decisions that a woman would have to make but that decision could be the decision that saves her life. Not every woman's body is capable of carrying a child, not every rape victim is emotionally or finically stable to have a child. You just don't know someone's situation.

Putting restrictions on someone who more than likely is already going through an emotionally hard time just puts more strain on the carrier of the child. A man will never truly know or experience what it is like to carry life, so the fact that one thinks he is entailed to try to restrict what I do with my own body is beside me. I feel that it is a basic human right to be able to decide what happens to your body. The best thing to do about this subject is to educate yourself and keep an open mind.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
