Man, I love Being A Woman!

Translation: I don't know what consent is and I'm trying to make you as uncomfortable as possible.

I love being a woman. I love everything that has to do with being a woman. I love the fact I'm comfortable enough in my own gender to call myself a woman in the first place. I love that I don't have to go through the difficult decision of going through gender reassignment surgery, being an outcast of my fellow peers, and dealing with the difficulty it is to even take a piss in modern day bathrooms! I love being a woman!

I love being a woman. Being told what to do and what is expected of me since the day I could properly comprehend sentences is the best experience of my life. Being told that I was to stay inside and play with dolls, but I couldn't go outside and play with the boys because they would be 'too rough' and 'that's not what girls are supposed to do'. The very fact that my resume will be filled with skills such as 'cooking', 'cleaning', 'sewing', and 'laundry' makes sure that my future husband knows exactly what he's getting into whenever he puts a ring on finger; we all know that woman are supposed to grow up and get married, but not to anyone else except for a CIS male. There's no such things as homos, kids!

I love being a woman. Whenever the sun goes down and I'm still at work, I love to inconvenience my male coworkers by asking them to walk me to my car, because there might be a rapist outside waiting for me. The very fact that I have to walk into a parking garage by myself is enough to send me into a full blown panic attack, because ladies, someone might be waiting for you! Oh, and don't get me started on all of the videos, posts, and gifs that depict what to do if I find myself in one of these situations. You know, because guys are never attacked and don't need to know these things! And when you ask your male coworker or supervisor if they'll walk you to your car, you have to sit there like:

You know when it's like, 100 degrees outside and you're working and you can literally feel the sweat forming on your back, neck, and breasts? Don't you just love the fact that you can glance over and see that every single guy, no matter their physical appearance, has their shirt off? Isn't it great that breasts are seen as sexual objects and can't be shown in public even though they are literally just body parts? Don't you love the fact that men can show their nipples in public but women get fined for indecent exposure even though the only difference is that one was wearing a bra? I for one love the fact that some guys use the argument: "What's the difference between a bikini and seeing you in your underwear?". Translation: I don't know what consent is and I'm trying to make you as uncomfortable as possible.

Last but not least, I love these reactions when as women, we decide to be confident in ourselves and not listen to society:

What do you love about being a woman? Don't let these things get you down ladies, and in the words of Shania Twain, we should all feel like:

April Ludgate

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
