They say that it doesn't take any effort to be a father, but it does to be a dad.Thank you for stepping in and being my dad, even though you didn't have to. You didn't have to hold me while I cried, take care of me when I was sick, or love me unconditionally; but you did. And for that I am forever grateful. You had a choice, and you chose to love me as your own. You introduced me to a world that wouldn't have been possible without you, a world full of love and adventure. I couldn't possibly list every good thing that you've done for me, but I can give you an idea:
You supported me on my every endeavor.
You conspired against my brother with me (probably the most important one if you ask me).
You introduced me to 4H... and floppy eared pigs.
You came to my sporting events and cheered me on (even if it meant you got sore from the bleachers)
You take me on IHop dates (when you don't lose the gift cards I got you for Father's Day)
You're always there to help me when I need it.
You taught me to stand up for what I believe in.
You're always willing to lend a hug.
You'll go along with my crazy adventures.
You come up with just as many crazy adventures as I do.
You never gave up on me.
You (sometimes) let me pick the restaurant.
You're my heavy lifter, because I'm usually not strong enough.
You're my top shelf reacher (Your 6'6" and I'm 5'7", it just happens).
You take care of my car maintenance, because let's be honest, I don't know what I'm doing.
I could probably keep going on for days, but we both know that you don't want to read that much. In short, thank you for everything. I'm so blessed to have you in my life. You gave me "love and a happy family...and that makes you my dad." ("That Makes Me Your Dad" -Ryan St. Louis)
