Poetry On Odyssey: The Apes Curiosity

A new poem I wrote, and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what it's about. So enjoy figuring it out!

Poetry On Odyssey: The Apes Curiosity

There's only one truth in the violence

The roads that lead to one lead to all

There's only one truth in the silence

The road that leads to one leads to all

The inner voice rings with reason

It's ridiculed and is deceiving

The inner voice rings with guidance

It's filled with ridicule and deceit

There's only one choice to decide

But the answer isn't as easy to find

There's only one decision in mind

But the answers are not yours to find

There's a Golden Arch of flame apart

That echoes the answers of time

The smile that's worth a million smiles

Strikes the Apes curiosity

A Golden Archc1.staticflickr.com

A trillion days pass before the night

Another trillion more wait

A trillion days pass before the night

Another trillion more wait

In the flames the light is bright

Or does it only appear that way?

It's hard to see past the ring of fire

Within the embers a new dawn

But here on the surface where we lie

Our hands still drag across the dirt

The Golden Arch is only temporary

Like the air, it was never meant to stay

The Ape's curiosity bought baths of the pyre

And so the cycle dies each morn

But here on the surface where we lie

Our hands briefly dragged across the sky

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
