How Males And Females Are DEFINITELY Equally Represented...
www.debate.org

There is often a debate as to whether males or females are superior. I personally feel that in every way shape and form neither group is superior or inferior to the other. This "battle of the sexes" however seems to be coming to its final conclusion as within this day and age both are represented equally 100 percent of the time. The following list includes just some of the reasons that we should accept that neither is more represented and why we should all just agree that we are equal in every respect.

1. There are no sports teams of any level that specifically have only one gender represented.

If you head to a local sports game you will notice that there is an equal representation of gender. There are not even separate teams for males and females. This actually extends onward to the national level. If you watch any NFL (National Football League), MLB (Major League Baseball), or NBA (National Basketball Association) games you'll notice that, once again, there is an equal representation of both men and women.

2. There is no wage gap whatsoever in the workplace, nor a glass ceiling for that matter.

In all fields of study men and women are equally paid. Men and women also tend to be promoted at the same level of frequency.

3. When a divorce happens between a heterosexual couple who have children gender roles will never bias the decision as to who gains custody.

When such a divorce happens, unless one of the parents actually is unfit (i.e. abusive, incompetent, etc.) all sides and facts will be taken into consideration on this decision. It would be unheard to find one of the two parents more "nurturing" based on their biology.

4. Schools do not enforce dress codes based on archaic gender roles either.

The fact that people would have an issue with clavicles or leggings is purely asinine. That is why I am so relieved that no student has ever been sent home over such trivial matters.

5. When a person is in a relationship and they suffer from abuse people will always believe them, even if they are a male.

6. People also believe that no one would ever lie about being raped, and would never disregard the accusations of a male against someone raped him.

7. It is unheard of to give a gender to inanimate objects.

No person calls a toy a boy toy or a girl toy. It is also unheard of to consider pink and blue to denote genders.

8. People no longer believe in archaic concepts such as "chivalry."

It is immensely looked down upon for a man to pay for a woman on every date, or to always open the door for her, or to always pull a chair out for her, etc.

As you can see our society is on the brink of a revolution of equal rights (or at least it needs to be). I accept this change immensely and I hope that we can eliminate misogyny in its entirety.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
